Kaokoland |
As Africa becomes increasingly civilised and exploited it is refreshing to learn that there are still remote unspoiled regions which remain untouched by the interference of Man, and Kaokoland in the North West of Namibia is just such a place.
The traditional ancestoral home of the Himba People, Kaokoland has been designated as a Communial Conservancy protected by Namibia's Dept of Environment and Tourism and we are delighted to be the sole booking Agents for Traditional Tented Safaris to this most magical part of Africa.
Our Kaokoland Conservancy is located approx 80km from the Hartmann Mountains where the Zebra of the same name originates from and boasts a combination of lowland Savannah and rugged Koppies which provides a wide variety of indigenous local species for the discerning trophy hunter.
At over 1.2 million Ha the Kaokoland Hunting Conservancy is significantly larger than most Europeans have ever hunted over before and since numbers are strictly controlled, yours will be a pure hunting experience in a region comparable in size to being alone in an area similar in size to South Wales - and you don't get that in the Eastern Cape!
The pictures speak for themselves and frankly do not do justice to this stunning yet remote part of Africa.
We are restricted in terms of visitor numbers to this area to reduce the impact on the local flora and fauna so numbers are strictly limited with the maximum size of a hunting party being 4 guns and since nothing can be left behind in the region, everything required for your visit must be taken in and removed again after your visit which provides for a unique hunting experience.
Typical packages to Kaokoland provide for 7 days of hunting with an additional day either end for airport transfers and we recommend a rest day in the Etosha Region before your visit commences which helps to aclimatise to the regions heat and altitude (and helps to get your eye in too!) although we are delighted to arrange bespoke packages on request.
