Highland Stalking and Fly Fishing - Sutherland
We have been looking for somewhere idyllic and typically Scottish to provide an Authentic Highland Stalking experience for our valued clients and in Loch Assynt Lodge we think we've found it!
Formerly owned by the Whitbread family, Loch Assynt Lodge is currently under the stewardship of new owners, Andy Hibbert and Jackie Yates but the rich herritage and hunting tradition is in safe hands as your hosts extend a genuine and sincere welcome to their Scottish retreat.
This is genuine Highland Stalking where Andy and the estate Ghillies have access to approaching 30000 acres of prime un-fenced Scotland and as such some degree of personal fitness should be ensured before visiting the estate.
In addition to the stalking there is a wealth of Salmon and Trout fishing available in the Estate's Loch and Lochans with the rivers Inver and Kirkaig nearby. The nearby local village is Lochinver which boasts friendly local pubs and a quality of restuarant that would otherwise rarely be seen outside of London, but then again the Loch Assynt Estate's neighbour is the Duke of Westminster's Reay Estate which should give you some idea of the quality of sport to be experienced here!
The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with well appointed guest faclities and 10 bedrooms. There is a separate dining room and guest drawing room with stunning views across the Highlands.
